Tops Gallery and Ulterior Gallery are pleased to be jointly participating in the Dallas Art Fair where will be presenting works by Kevin Ford, Selena Kimball and Mamie Tinkler.
Selena Kimball received her M.F.A. from Hunter College in combined media in 2007, following a B.F.A. in sculpture from Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI in 1997, and currently works and is based in New York. Her paintings has been exhibited at venues including: Wolfstaedter Gallery, Frankfurt, Germany (2018, solo); Bates College Museum of Art, Lewiston, ME (2015); the Katonah Museum of Art, New York, NY (2013); the Portland Museum of Art, Portland, ME (2011); the Center for Contemporary Art, Warsaw (2004, solo); and the Museum of the Romanian Peasant, Bucharest (2001). Her work has been reviewed in Bomb Magazine, The Boston Globe, The New York Observer, and Frankfurter Allgemeine among others. Kimball was a NYSCA/NYFA fellow (2020), MacDowell Fellow (2017,2011), a recipient of two Pollock-Krasner awards (2021, 2015), a Jerome Foundation grant (2015), and an Asian Cultural Council award (2018).
Mamie Tinkler grew up in Brighton, TN and lives and works in New York, NY. She graduated from Columbia University with BA in 2000 and obtained an MFA from Hunter College in 2005. Her watercolor painting was featured in TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art 2021, and a painting from her 2022 solo exhibition at Ulterior is now part of The Rachofsky Collection, Dallas. Tinkler’s painting is currently on view as a part of a group exhibition at LA Moca, Ordinary People: Photorealism and the Work of Art since 1968, curated by Anna Katz until May 4, 2025. Besides Tops and Ulterior, her work was also exhibited in exhibitions including The Armory Show (2020); The Suburban, Oak Park, IL (2015); Mitchell-Innes & Nash (2014); and Rachel Uffner Gallery (2011). Tinkler’s exhibitions and works have received coverage in the New York Times, Artforum, and Modern Painters, among others.
Kevin Ford is a painter living and working in Connecticut. He has had solo exhibitions at Hesse Flatow, New York, NY, Gallery 12.26, Dallas, TX, Galerie Semiose, Paris, FR, Kate Werble Gallery, New York, NY, and at Tops Gallery, Memphis, TN. Ford’s work has been exhibited in group and two-person exhibitions at The Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, The Private Museum, Singapore, Turley Gallery, NY, Primary Projects, FL , The Center for Maine Contemporary Art, ME, Kipnz, NY, Reyes Finn, MI, Casey Kaplan Gallery, NY, The Islip Art Museum, NY, IRL, NY, Marquee Projects, NY, Subtitled, NY, Tops Gallery, TN, and at Essex Flowers, NY, among others. Ford’s work has been featured in V Magazine, Serendipity Magazine, included in the book Artists II, and has been reviewed in ARTFORUM, The New York Times, Burnaway, Hyperallergic, Two Coats of Paint, and other publications. Ford received his MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale University and his BFA in Painting from Boston University.
